This policy is established to provide clarity and guidelines for team members considering permanent relocation and aims to ensure transparency in the approval process and financial considerations associated with such decisions
At Airalo, we value and support the flexibility of a remote lifestyle for our team members.
While we’re committed to offering the flexibility of a remote work environment (you can find more details in Work from Abroad ), it’s also important that we establish some guidelines to help us manage our operations responsibly and sustainably.
This policy is here to provide clarity for any team member considering a permanent move to a new country, encouraging transparency and the shared responsibility for the continued success of our organization.

| This policy applies to long-term and permanent moves only that will impact tax status. | If you are visiting a country for a short stay (45 business days and/or 70 calendar days) this process is not for you. |
Relocation refers to a team member’s permanent move from one country to another with the intent to reside there for an extended period or indefinitely, as opposed to temporary travel or short-term stays.
It is not the same as working in another location for a short, temporary period. Think of it as the opposite of ‘What’s Temporary’.
If you are unclear of your tax status will be changing due to a move (it usually will), please read on and contact a tax/mobility specialist to get the guidance you need.
Before a team member makes the decision to relocate to another country, it is crucial to consider various implications. Financial aspects in the long run, potential timezone differences, the cost of living, and unforeseen expenses should all be carefully evaluated.
This thoughtful consideration is essential to avoid any potential disappointments or challenges in the future. By proactively assessing these factors, you can make informed decisions that align with your personal and professional goals.
All team members requesting a relocation must have:
✅ Been at Airalo for a minimum of 6 months
✅ No warnings or performance issues in the last 6 months
✅ You have informed your lead and head of department and they are happy for you to put in a request.
✅ You have not already moved in the last 12 months. Airalo permits relocations once in a 12 month period. This is not calendar months but a 12 month timeframe from your last move.
☑️ For example, if you relocate on the 1st February 2024, you cannot relocate again until 1st February 2025.
